Venue turns Green

VENUE TURNS GREEN - BROCHURE PHASED, OUT BY USB STICK!

This week, the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre at the Madejski Stadium, Reading has this week launched its new USB stick brochure which is a replacement for the old paper brochure. The Royal Berkshire Conference centre is managed by Compass Group UK & Ireland for Reading Football Club.

The Conference brochure is an important selling tool for any Conference facility but over the past year or so it has been seen as a waste of paper and not very environmentally friendly.

The Royal Berkshire Conference Centre is working hard to become a greener venue and this is the start of a focus for change at the venue. The USB Stick signals a change. The venue also plans to move other brochures into this format and is looking to encourage recycling within its meeting rooms and is working towards more responsibly sourced food.

Wayne Spicer Sales and Marketing Manager, Compass Group UK & Ireland said "The idea for the USB stick brochure came to me after attending a green issues meeting in London, I was horrified to be leaving the venue with so many paper print outs, this really wasn't the right thing to do considering the subject matter."

The USB stick has cut the need for paper and is an ideal way of reviewing information electronically. The key is made from 100% recycled plastic and is able to be used by our guests to store their own information, as well as view the venue information.

The USB stick enables the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, to be more creative than paper. For example the conference centre has produced a promotional video to load onto the stick, which shows the venue and how it can be used as a multi functional meeting place.
